Beeholder
You stare deep into the eye of the Beeholder, and perceive a beautiful lager: straw gold in color, crystal clear, and twinkling in the torchlight. As if enchanted, your hand reaches for the pint glass, slowly grasping its cool, smooth surface. You raise the chalice to your lips and pause for just a moment as an enticing aroma of barley and citrus blossoms emanates from the brew. “Delicious,” you think, “too delicious…”
Roll for initiative.
Beeholder is a PNW lager brewed in collaboration with our friends from GeekFest to celebrate this year’s con in Everett. Light and refreshing, it has been crafted as the perfect beer to enjoy while adventuring, strolling the convention halls, or rolling dice with your friends.
The recipe—like our favorite fantasy realms—is firmly rooted in Germanic tradition, reinterpreted through a modern lens. We start with the finest pilsner malt with just a touch of Munich malt to add depth and the impression of a touch more heft. We then sprinkle in Krush hops, a brand new variety from the Yakima Valley known for it’s unique blend of citrus, tropical, and stone fruit characteristics. A subtle addition of Loral hops help temper the fruity aroma of the Krush, using its floral aroma to integrate the hop character with the clean lager fermentation
The way these layers come together is downright magical. The fruit-forward hop aroma suggests a more aggressive flavor profile, but the delicate interplay of the bready malt and floral hops is light on the palate, perfect for drinking it by the stein. Light yet satisfying, flavorful yet balanced, and above all, delicious.
Beeholder will be available on tap at Angel of the Winds Arena during GeekFest, as well as at the Watts taproom, Kel’s, Zulu’s and more. Keep an eye out for it at your favorite tavern!
