Carpool LAne IPA
2024 Eastside Beer Week collab IPA
From tap takeovers to special releases, brewery tours to exclusive tastings, Eastside Beer Week offers a plethora of events where patrons can connect with brewers, discover new favorites, and toast to the camaraderie of the craft beer community. Eastside Beer Week provides a platform for breweries to shine, showcasing their innovative creations and welcoming beer enthusiasts to experience the diversity of styles and tastes that define the Eastside beer scene.
This year, we got to host the collab brewday. We welcomed 8 other breweries from up and down the 405 corridor to our new brewery to bring you a bright, vibrant, west coast IPA to enjoy with your friends as you explore Eastside Beer Week.
The recipe we came up with goes extra light on the malt bill, using only pale and pilsner malts from Prairie Malt. We then loaded up on Mosaic hops in the whirlpool, including the new DynaBoost flowable extract from Yakima Chief Hops to limit the negative effects of excess vegetal material. The dry hop addition was even bigger, headlined by the new HBC 586 experimental hop, alongside Talus, Azacca, and even more Mosaic.
The result is an IPA that’s light in body, but big on hop character. Mosaic hops lead the way with their characteristic citrus and dank blueberry, before HBC 586 and friends break through with a bright burst of orange, mango, and light tropical fruits. It’s both aggressively hopped and light and drinkable: the perfect summer IPA for enjoying Eastside Beer Week.
Carpool Lane IPA is available for a limited time both in cans and on draft. You can find it across the eastside as well as at the taprooms of the participating breweries. We’ll be tapping the first keg on Saturday, 7/13 at the Eastside Beer Week Kickoff party at Watts Brewing. Come join us to celebrate eastside beer!
PSA: The name Carpool Lane IPA evokes the spirit of camaraderie the breweries up and down 405 share. Like the carpool lane that connects us, alcohol can take its toll. Please don’t drink and drive.
