On Friday 8/8, we drop the next entry in the Solitary Series!
This edition combines influences from all sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Brewed with molasses—a byproduct of the Caribbean sugar industry and popular in early American brewing—South African hops, and fermented with our German ale yeast, its relatively light body (as far as 9.5% beers go) and complex flavor creates a balance akin to an abbey ale.
Join us for the first taste when it goes on tap Friday 8/8. The Cut Shop is rolling up at 5 pm to feed the party, bringing some smoked brisket sandwiches to pair with that complex molasses character.
Then we will have a special guided tasting just for our Solitary Society members starting at 6 pm. We’ll take a deep dive into the use of simple sugars in beer, how molasses is made, and how these components come together to make this beer. If you’re not yet a member yet, there’s still time to join! Sign up in the Watts app.
