Honey Bound
Zulu’s Boardgame Cafe 10th Anniversary Collab
When a honeybee hive produces an overabundance of honey, the honeycomb can fill up to the point where there is nowhere to store the new honey but in the brood cells intended for baby bees. With nowhere for the queen to lay eggs, she can't raise the next generation. A hive in this state is called “honey bound.”
Over the last 10 years, Zulu's Boardgame Cafe has been blessed with an abundance of community. Yes, it has always been a top destination for boardgames, TCGs, RPGs, miniatures, and more, but it's also a gathering place where friends can meet to share a meal and a good beer over a shared activity. Any time you poke your head into Zulu's, you'll find every corner of the place buzzing with friendly banter and organic connection. But as the community swells and the walls refuse to budge, the space has started to feel, well... honey bound.
We're excited for our friends at Zulu's as they continue to expand beyond their original Bothell location, and we're particularly excited to brew Honey Bound hazy pale to mark their 10th anniversary. This beer is a celebration of all they've achieved, all the various communities that have come together to make it such a thriving place, and all the good times shared inside their walls.
Honey Bound is a hazy pale ale bursting at the seams with tropical hop character. Waimea and [Elani] hops team up to power this beer, delivering layers of tangerine, [mango] and [melon]. At once flavorful and chill, the soft finish and 4.7% ABV make this beer ideal for sharing pints over a long session of Twilight Imperium, or a quick game of Hive in the sunny beer garden.
Available on tap at Zulu’s Bothell and at the Watts taproom starting Tuesday, April 7th.
