101st AVe
The Hop and Hound 11th Anniversary IPA
Since 2014, The Hop and Hound has been downtown Bothell’s OG craft beer shop, becoming both a neighborhood hub for the freshest local beer, and a destination for unique beers from around the world. We’re thrilled to be able to brew a beer with Dustin and the crew to celebrate 11 years of Bothell beer!
The name 101st Ave comes of course from the address of The Hop and Hound, located on 101st Ave NE just off Main Street in downtown Bothell. It also highlights this special 11th anniversary: 10 years under founders Eric and Lauren Schaffer, and this year with Dustin Urlacher at the helm. The AVE also doubles as an acronym for the hops selected for this recipe—Azacca, Vista and Erebus—three varieties selected from Dustin’s old stomping grounds in eastern Washington.
These hops form the basis for an aromatic, fruit-forward IPA. Brewed with entirely 2-row pale malt, it’s light and refreshing for summertime in the sun at both The Hop and Hound and Watts Brewing. Our signature Kölsch yeast gives us a unique fermentation that’s bright and crisp while amplifying the tropical notes in the hops, combining the best of east and west coast IPAs.
Look for 101st Ave both on draft and in cans, starting at The Hop and Hound’s 11th Anniversary Party June 6-8.
