We’re working with the Woodinville Chamber of Commerce to brew a beer in support of the Woodinville Welcomes the World campaign, and we’d like to invite you to join us!

We’re all gearing up to host watch parties, and to welcome travelers from near and far. Here at Watts, we wanted to brew something just for the World Cup to make the occasion that much more special. With all of Woodinville pulling together to make our little corner of the PNW a destination during the tournament, we’d like to invite you all to participate in this community-wide collab brew!

About the Collab

The purpose of the Group W collaboration is to contribute toward the excitement of the World Cup season, to get people out of the house and celebrating with friends, and to bring visibility to the fun events and watch parties we’re all trying to put together.

Anybody who is hosting World Cup related events is welcome to join the collab! We hope you will serve the beer at your events, but there is no purchase requirement to participate in the collab. Participating businesses will get their logo featured on the side of the can alongside ours. The label will also include a QR code to the events page on the Visit Woodinville website listing all the soccer events. Make sure to upload your events so they will be featured!

Watts Brewing and the Chamber will also be featuring events pouring the beer on our social media channels, so don’t hesitate to tag us or invite us as post collaborators, and we will share through our channels when possible.

About the Beer

The recipe we’ve selected to brew for the collab is called “Group W”, a PNW lager.

We wanted something light and approachable, the kind of beer anybody can enjoy drinking, and any kind of venue will be able to sell. But we also wanted a recipe that would showcase what makes PNW brewing unique: our access to the world’s hop growing capital in the Yakima Valley. Group W PNW lager showcases Krush hops, a brand new hop variety that has been making waves in brewing circles for it’s blend of citrus, stone fruit and tropical flavors.

The name “Group W” comes from the groups each team is assigned to during the Group Stage of the tournament (for example the US is in “Group D”). Group W feels like a fitting name considering we’re all in Woodinville, Washington!

Group W will be available both on draft and in cans starting early June.

If you want your logo to be featured on the can, please attach it below. Logos will be small, so attach a simplified black and white vector format (.ai, .pdf, .eps, etc.) if you have one.
