Watts Brewing Company

Watts Brewing Company is a small, independent brewery from Woodinville, Washington dedicated to brewing better beer.  We take pride in brewing flavorful, nuanced beers that combine the best of old-world sophistication and American craft beer swagger.

Our Story

Like many craft brewers before him, founder and head brewer Evan Watts started out as a homebrewer, brewing his first batch of beer over a turkey-fryer in his driveway. It … was ok. Undeterred, Evan brewed another batch, and then another... If you give a mouse a cookie, he'll want a glass of milk to go with it. If you teach a man to brew, he'll want a brewery to go with it. After a few years, hundreds of batches, and some exhaustive product testing on unsuspecting family, friends, and colleagues, that second-hand, Frankenstein brewing kit gave way to a custom-built 1 bbl brewhouse and the opportunity to share his beer with the public.

In September 2016, we finally began delivering kegs to bars and restaurants in Bothell, starting with a launch party hosted by our friends at The Hop and Hound! The line out the door and around the block was certainly a warm welcome to the Bothell beer scene. We quickly reached capacity selling our beer wholesale around town.

After learning the ropes and honing our craft for a few years (and picking up a few awards along the way), we set out in search of a new home. We needed a location where we could build a larger brewery to meet demand and a taproom to welcome the public. Those plans were derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Instead we ended up renting brewery space from breweries around town, popping in to brew a batch of beer when a tank was available. The larger batch sizes allowed us to get more beer out into the market and to get our beer into cans for the first time, but we still needed a place to call our own.

Finally in Spring 2023, a location in Woodinville became available that met our requirements. The space had previously been occupied by Sumerian Brewing, so we were able to buy their equipment and take over the brewery already in place. We got the keys September 1st and had the taproom open by the end of the month. We were once again greeted with a packed house, and a line to the door for most of our opening day.

We appreciate all of you who have welcomed us to Woodinville and supported us throughout our journey! We look forward to many more years here brewing awesome beer for you!
