BTS 425/260 Collab
The best beers are the ones you get to share with friends. When you get something so good, you just gotta get the gang together to experience it with you.
This beer celebrates the craft beer enthusiasts of Beer Tasting 425/360 and the Sammamish River Share crew – where friends and memories are made, shared, and celebrated.
We got together with them to brew something for the beer nerds. Black IPA may not be the trendiest style, but it’s a fun throwback for those who have been in the game for a minute. Black IPA (sometimes known as Cascadian dark ale) dates all the way back to 1990, but the style had a bit of a moment in the early 2010s when the addition of some new hops coming out of Yakima blew everyone’s tongues off.
This recipe uses a blend of regular and dehusked black malts to build a smooth and assertive roast profile, and to give the beer its color. We then shoveled in Simcoe hops for its unique blend of pine, citrus, and floral notes, paired with Nelson Sauvin hops from New Zealand to add a tropical top end, and some Idaho 7 to layer in some stonefruit.
#WYD is here just in time for fall, available both on draft and in cans, so grab a few to share with your friends!
