The sun is out, temperatures are starting to rise, and there’s only one thing missing: imperial stout! This spring we’re excited to release the next beer in the Solitary Series.

This edition is loosely inspired by the stouts of the Caribbean. Tropical stouts pair crystal malt and an expressive English ale yeast with the dark roasted malts to bring out a dark fruit character in the beer. Our version takes this concept and builds a bigger version, which at nearly 10% ABV pushes it into imperial stout territory.

The finished beer is both sweet and roasty, with a subtle alcohol heat that will sneak up on you if you’re not careful. Smooth dark chocolate up front quickly makes room for dark cherry notes, with a roasty peanut butter finish.
